2 day tiger leaping gorge itinerary

Question

Hi, planning on arriving into Lijiang early on the morning of the first day after an overnight train from Kunming, then would like to catch a bus to be able to get to the start of the gorge from LJ if possible. Hopefully we would set off walking at around midday and plan on staying in one of the guesthouses along the way, the second day we would walk a bit further but would need to be able to get back to LJ by that evening to be able to catch the overnight train back to Kunming, so is there anywhere that we would be able to do that? Also how far would we be able to get along the walk if we were walking for roughly 10 hours? We are planning this for early July so i know its not great timing but what sort of weather should we prepare for? Thanks

From LJ railway station, take bus no.18 to Jichuangchang, then walk about 500 yards to LJ coach station, where there are long-distance buses to Qiaotou (Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge and the start of hiking favored by most visitors). The long-distance bus ride takes about 2 hours and CNY40.Begin hiking once upon arrival and you may arrive at Chama or Halfway Guesthouse by evening. You may stay overnight there. On the second day, keep hiking to Tina’s House (about 3.5 -4 hours). Upon arrival, leave your luggage there (it’s free) and take a tour around to see Tiger Leaping Rock and Heavenly Stairs(about 3 hours). Back to Tina’s and have lunch, then take a bus back to Qiaotou. From Qiaotou, take a bus back to LJ. July is not the best time to visit there. There may be heavy rains but it won’t last long. Temp different is large in day and night. Bring rain gears and an overcoat.
