About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I use the 72 hrs free transit policy and am I ok to leave airport in Kumning to go to a hotel?

I'm from Holland and want to from Fukuoka Japan to Colombo Sri Lanka. I have two China stops in between. Shanhai and Kumning.

Wim, you can't make use of 72 hours free transit if you have two stops in Sanghai and Kunming. However, you are eligible for 24 hours free transit in these two cities if your total stay in these two cities is less than 24 hours.

Is this 100% as I know under the 72-hour entry you are allowed to enter shanghai and then leave China from a different city?

Wim, I am pretty sure that you can not pass by two Chinese cities to make use of 72 hours free transit. But it is ok if you just make use of 24 hours fe transit.
