About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Question of 72 hour visa Beijing

I am US citizen, US passport and China Business entry permit valid 9 more months. Fiancé is US resident with US Permanent resident [green] card. She holds Malaysian passport born there Malaysian Chinese person. We plan to travel to Malaysia in April from US to land in Beijing. We would like to meet friend from US who is China resident to visit for one or two days with them stay at Hilton near Ringroad 3, then fly on to Malaysia.
Malaysia is not on the list of 72 hour stop over country. Is her holding US Green card enough to qualify her for 72 hour free transit? Or is her being my fiancee enough to qualify her for 72 hour free transit?

Michael, sorry to tell you that holding a US green card or being a fiancee of a US citizen will not make her eligible for the 72 hour free transit policy. However, since you will only stay in Beijing for one or two days, you can check whether you qualify for the 24 hour free transit. Note: it is said that the 24 hours count from the following midnight after your arrival so your actual stay can be longer than 24 hours.

Free transit must stay in airport correct? Not go into city to visit friend who live there?

Michael, it's Ok for you to leave the airport and go into city to visit friends if the free transit policy is available for you.
