About:China Tourist Visa

British UK residents entering China via Japan

I am British (normally resident in the UK) and planning a long trip abroad, leaving later this year and returning late in 2016 via Japan, China and the trans-Siberian railway. Can I apply for an entry visa to China while I am away from the UK, since I understand that applications can only be made within 3 months of the date of entry?

Hey NRC, as far as I know, if a person from a third country wants to apply for the China tourist entry permit in Japan, he or she has to do it through a travel agency. You can confirm it with the Chinese embassy in Japan. As you'll travel in many countries, I think you do not have to do the application in Japan, other countries can be you choice too.
