About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Planning to stay longer than 5 years

Hi,
I wonder what to do after having worked for 5 years with a temporary residence permit, if I still wanted to keep on working in China. I might be hired by a Chinese company soon. Does the 5-year limit mean they can only employ me for a maximum of 5 years or can the temporary residence permit be renewed as often as I want as long as I have a job?

The five-year limit of temporary residence permit does not mean that you can stay in China only for five years at most. As long as you have a job, you can renew the residence permit for sure.
