About:China Work Visa

Entry permit for my husband

Hi,
I have a great job in Beijing from China and my husband was planning to stay in the UK and get a teaching qualification so that he could teach in China once qualified. However, I have just read that he needs five years's teaching experience to teach in China! Is this right? He can come with me on my visa but then couldn't work, I think. What is the best approach for us - we don't want to be separated for longer than necessary. Thanks

Hello M! If your husband wants to teach in a public school, then he may need to get the foreign expert certificate and that required five years' teaching experience. If it's OK to teach in a company or private school, he only needs to get a work permit. In most cities, two years of work experience is needed to apply for the work permit. However, I do think if he has been working in UK, then work experience there counts as well. So he had better apply for the Z type directly.
