About:Marriage Registration in China

I am a Singaporean and planning to marry a chinese girl in Yunnan.I am a retiree and plan to build a house in Yunnan so that she and I can stay with her parents and grandmother.I think I need to have a L visa for a longer stay in China. As to get China citizenship, is it possible I would get it if I stayed in China for more than 5 years or least 1 year in accumulation within 5 years. Any possibilities of getting the citizenship in a shorter time. I plan to give up my Singapore citizen so that I can withdrawn all my saving held by Singapore Central Provident Fund Board so as to make a better and happy living for her three elderly. Thanks

It is impossible for you to get the citizenship in a shorter time, spouses of Chinese citizens, whose marriage has lasted for five years, and who have lived in China for five years in a row, the annual stay in China being no shorter than nine months, and who have stable and secured living status and place to live; Even though you satisfy the requirement, it is very hard to get a permanent residence permit (not Chinese passport), China is not a immigration country, it has very strict regulations on Chinese paspsort application, I can say that it is impossible for you to get a Chinese passport, but there is slim chance for you to get a Permanent Residence Permit.
