Canada to Shanghai

Hi! I would like to visit Shanghai for 72 hours or less from Canada and then return to Canada. Is that permissible under this scheme, or do I need to have a third destination? Is there any strategy for me?

Andrew, your planned itinerary is not eligible for the free transit policy because you have to go to a third destination. My suggestion is on your way back, you can choose to fly from Shanghai to Canada via Hong Kong so as to make use of the policy.
