About:Stone Forest

Kunming to Shilin Stone Forest

My Train is going to arrive from Lijiang to Kunming Railway station. I have time until my evening flight to visit Shilin Stone Forest. Can I take the Metro line to the East bus station and I leave my luggage there? What is the bus schedule to/from Shilin?
Also, I would like to know if the Metro line from the Railway station to the Airport is already in operation.

Hey, can you tell me what time will you arrive in KM railwat station from Lijiang?
Yes, you can store your luggage in the East Bus Station.
But the bus from the East Bus Station to Shilin needs about 1.5 hours. If you arrive in KM after 12:00pm, your time may be very limited if going to Shilin. Besides, I found the bus schedule online, buses running to Shilin are only available from 07:20 to 09:55.
There is no metro line from the railway station to KM airport now. You can take airport express from Jinjiang Hotel, which is about 300 meters north from the railway station.

Thanks Emily! I will arrive to Kunming at 8:29am. Are you sure the metro line from East bus station is not in operation yet? I read it somewhere even other 2 lines to downtown was also open in 2014.

You are right that metro line 6 and line 2 have been in operation now. The former connects East Bus Station and the airport and the latter connects South Ring Road and North Bus Station. No a line passes the railway station yet.

From the railway station to East Bus Station, I would suggest you take bus no. 69 to reach directly.
