About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying through China for two Times

I am flying into Shanghai for 24 hours, then on to Vietnam for two weeks. But two weeks later, I am also flying back into Shanghai for about 48 hours. Am I eligible for 72 hour visa on both times or do I have to add both of those trips together?

I have an American passport.

You don't need to add these trips together. Where do you fly from on your way to Vietnam and where will you fly to on your way back? If the answers are countries or regions other than mainland China and Vietnam, you qualify for the 72 hour free transit.

I will fly from USA > Shanghai, China (24 hours) > Vietnam (1week) > Thailand (1 week) > Shanghai, China (48 hours) > USA.

Do I still qualify for the 72-hour free transit visa both times?
