Australian permanent resident using Chinese passport

Hi,
my name is Alex. I have granted Australian permanent resident. I am going back to China's mainland first from Australia and I am planning to go to Hong Kong as well. Just wondering do I need to apply visa to go to HK on Chinese passport since I am going to Chinese mainland first and I am going to HK, and back from HK to mainland a few days, then I am going to fly back to Australia in Chinese mainland??

Thanks,
Alex.

Based on your situation, you need to have a Two-way Permits to visit HK. If you can fly from Australia to visit HK first and then return to China mainland, the Two-way Permits is not necessary.
