About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi I am traveling from Bangkok to Beijing then to shanghai and then back to America.

I would be in Beijing and Shanghai for a total of less than 72 hours. Would I qualify for the 72 hour free transit?

Since you will transfer in two cities in China, Beijing and Shanghai, you are unable to enjoy the 72-hour free transit. That policy is only avalid for those making transferring in one city in China.

Your total transferring time is over than 24 hours, right? If so, you need to apply for a Transit G in advance for the transitting.
