About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Will I have to book one same ticket to apply the 72 hour policy?

With US passport, can I fly from Taipei to Beijing in one ticket, do one day sight-seeing, then fly to Hong Kong on another ticket?

Seperate tickets are OK to enjoy the 72-hour free transit. However, your departure region, Taiwan and the destination place, HK are close to each other, it is not assured that you can definitly enjoy the 72-hour free transit.
Personally speaking, you are suggested to contact the Beijing airport immigration for confirming and their phone number is 0086-10-56095400.
