About:China Visa on Arrival

Visa on arrival from Vietnam

Australian citizen. Planning on getting into China via the Hekou/Lao Cai border in late December. Is it possible to get a VOA at the border?

It may not be possible unless you have urgent thing to do to pass that border. You are suggested to try to apply just in Vietnam.

Thanks Arvin. Also, any idea what type I would need? Not sure if it would be a 'transit G' or a 'tourist L'. I will be flying out of Kunming about 10 days after I enter via Lao Cai/Hekou border.

Since you will stay 10 days in Kunming, you need to apply for a single entry Tourist L type.
