Flight from Moscow to Vietnam with two stopovers in China

Good afternoon, I'm flying from Moscow to Vietnam. I am a Russian citizen.
I have 2 layovers in China, the first at Beijing airport, and the 2nd in Shanghai. The connection is tight in Beijing, and I don't plan to leave the transit area. For the next flight, Shanghai's domestic connection is twelve hours; where I'd like to get off. Please tell me what documents I need to fill out.

It is important to understand that Russian citizens do not need any kind of visa to enter China for up to 30 days, so these 24/240 hour visa free transit schemes are not relevant in your case. Here is what you should do in the exact order:

- Before the flight you will print out your flight tickets (ticket confirmations). This is so much easier than handling the tickets over the mobile phone. You should have your flight tickets at hand in both Moscow and in Beijing.
- Also, before departure from Moscow you will fill out Chinese arrival card online through China National Immigration administration (NIA) website where you will put your entry point in China as - Beijing because this is the place where you will enter China and not Shanghai. It is always the first point where you enter China!
- At the moment of check-in in Moscow you will present your flight tickets and declare that you are traveling to Vietnam via China. After a short check, you will be issued a boarding passes for your flights.
- Upon landing in Beijing the first thing you will do is to perform fingerprinting at automatic fingerprinting machine.
- After fingerprinting you will proceed to the immigration because you do not need 24/240 hour visa free transit counter.
- After immigration you will just go to the gate for your flight to Shanghai that will be a purely domestic one.
- Upon landing in Shanghai, you will just exit the plane and head to the city. There are no formalities because this was a domestic flight. You will explore Shanghai city.
- When the time arrives, you will return to the airport and cross the exit immigration and head to the gate for your flight to Vietnam.

This is it. Have a wonderful journey.
