About:Requirements for China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

residence permit for defacto spouse

I was granted recently a Z visa and my 6 monthdaughter and defacto husband s1 type. I applied an s2 for him since we aren't married but I was surprised to see an s1 on his passport. would this be a problem when we apply for a residence permit in Beijing?

Do you have a marriage certificate with your husband?
If you already has a marriage certificate, there is no problem. If there is no such kind of certificate, the problem may exist. You are suggested to contact the local Chinese embassy to confirm this issue and you will get a suitable answer from the embassy.

Kyle, we aren't married yet. Would the PSB in Beijing decide on the matter? The visa says that my defacto husband should apply for residence permit within 30 days from the date of entry. The HR officer called PSB and said that the s1 might be changed to s2 if there are no proper documents.

If you will go to Beijing for working, the PSB in Beijing has the final right to decide it.
The S1 will be changed into a S2 if you cannot provide a marriage certificate. If possible, you can try to get married before going to China.
