Australian family travelling by train Hong Kong to Shanghai

Hello I am travelling with my husband and 8 year old son. We are having 7 nights in Hong Kong and then travelling by train to Shanghai for 5 nights. We will also visit Macau when in Hong Kong. We are travelling independently. Do we need double entry visa and what category do we need? Thanks Selma
