About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling from Hong Kong through Shanghai to Amsterdam

Hi,
I'm flying from Hong Kong to Shanghai and less than 72 hours later back to Amsterdam.
I came from Amsterdam to Hong Kong, but on a separate ticket.
Can I apply for a 72h visa free transit?
Thanks

You are qualified for the 72-hour free transit policy, since you fly to Shanghai from HK but then fly to Netherlands.

The ticket from Amsterdam to HK will not affect you to enjoy the 72-hour free transit.

Hi Robin,
Thanks for the answer!
one more thing: if I have a round trip AMS-HKG-SHA-AMS, is this still valid?

Your trip AMS - HKG - SHA -AMS is valid for enjoying the free transit, since you fly to Shanghai from HK and will reach AMS then.
