About:Chinese Embassy in Egypt

I am Ph.D student and want to invite my family to live with me in china

but the University doesn't offer an invitation letter to them. so, I would like to ask how can I bring my family. As a meaning, which type of Visa is possible for entry and later to apply for residence permit? Thanks a lot

If you want them to stay for over 180 days, they can apply for a S1 type. The invitation letter from you is enough, so you do not need to ask the school to provide one. After they got S1, they need to change it to a resident permit within 30 days after they enter China.
