About:K Trains

I'm going to Nepal but w/ 19hour layover in Kunming and staying in a hotel. Do I still need a visa?

I'm currently working and living in Thailand so, I'm flying from Chiangmai, Thailand.

No. no visa is needed, but you have to apply for a stay permit, which can be obtained easily. Don’t worry about that.

I heard you may need to fill in a form for the transit on the flight and upon arriving, u will be granted a one-day temporary permit, but not so sure. Don't worry! If you have any problem with this issue, walk straight to the information desk for consultation. I believe everything will be handled.
