About:Chinese Embassy in Netherlands

24 hour stopover permit eligibility

We are planning to book a ticket that requires a 9 hour stopover in Xiamen for outbound and another 21 hours in Beijing for oir inbound flight. My bf is a Dutch citizen so he is eligible for a 72 hour permit in China but I'm not since I'm still holding a Philippines passport and with only a dutch residence permit. My question is, am I allowed to go out of the airport for less than 24 hours if I go to the immigration counter and ask for a 24 hour stamp or do I need to apply still for a chinese visa beforehand? Your answers will be very much appreciated.

You mean you will fly from Xiamen to another international city for your first trip and then on another trip, you will be via Beijing to a Chinese city? Would you mind make your trip clear for me?

If your total transferring time in China is less than 24 hours, you can go to apply for a 24-hour free transit stamp. If not, you need to apply a Transit type in advance.

Hi Gale, thanks for the reply. We just decided to book another flight that will not have a stopover in China so less hassle :).
