Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City

Hi, Is it better to visit the square and the Forbidden City in the morning? How much time is needed for both places? Besides the two destinations, any other place of attaction nearby? Thank you.

Yes, it is advisable to visit in the morning and the two attractions are worth a half day. After visiting both of them, you can also have fun in nearby Beihai Park. If time permits, go to Qianmen for simple shopping, where u can also find many local snacks.
