Ticket to Forbidden City + Tiananmen Square

Hi, as I have understood If I want to see Tiananmen Square on my way to go to Forbidden City, I need to purchase ticket for forbidden city, in addition to make reservation or buy ticket (unsure?) to Tiananmen square? And which option is this when I book on your website? I am going this june, so how can I make sure to get the tickets. And since it will be summer holiday in China, should I prepare to go there as early as possible in order to avoid a long que. I was thinking going to Tianman square at 5.30am/6.00am, pass security, walk around (30-45min?), then stand in line for forbidden city so I can enter early. Thanks in advance for replying.

Melenia, are you going to the Tian'anmen Square that early, at 5.30am/6.00am to see the flag raise ceremony? Actually, people go there as early as 2:00am to queue up for that. When you are there at 05:30/06:00am, it will be too late.

If you are only going to see the Square and Forbidden City, there is no need to go that early. You can be there when people for flag raise ceremony have left, like at around 07:00. After entry check and some stroll, you can go to the Forbidden City, which opens at 08:30.

For tickets of the both sites, you can book them here: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/beijing/forbidden-city/tickets-booking.htm

Wish you a nice day there~
