Tiannamen Square

Hi, I have booked tickets to the Forbidden City but I'm unclear if we also need to book tickets for Tiannamen Square. The tour company are suggesting we do need to also book this. I;ve tried to book online but cannot with an international phone number. I cannot get WeChat to work internationally either as I don't have someone to activate this. Please can you provide any advise as really keen to not miss out on the opportunity to see this. Thank you
