About:China Visa on Arrival

I am transiting from Australia to UK vis Guangzhou and need to Visit Shanghai

The company we use in Shanghai to make our plastic parts needs me to visit to finalise a new project. I will be travelling from Australia and do not have time to get a Chinese visa. Can I use my 72 hours to go to Shanghai and this is plenty of time for the project. I can ask the company for a letter to explain that I am needed. Can I get an exceptional visa in Guangzhou?
Please advise me using my email,- tedatkinsgmail.com
Thanks,
Ted

Hi, Ted. According to the rules, you cannot use the 72-hour free transit policy to go to Shanghai. Under this policy, you can only travel within Guangdong Province.
If you are really in an urgent, you can try to apply for a VOA when reach Guangzhou. In order to get the VOA, it is suggested to ask the company to issue you an introduction letter to show you need to enter China urgently.
Anyway, good luck with you ~
