About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, we are flying from Singapore to Tokyo.

The flight will require us to transit in Shanghai for 7 hours and it will be the same when we are going back to Singapore (transit in Shanghai) as well.

I'm wondering if we can get free 72 hour visa exemption as well?

Thanks.
Jo

You have Indonesia passport, right
If so, you cannot enjoy the 72-hour free transit.
However, you just stay in the airport for 7 hours, you can enjoy the 24-hour free transit policy if you want to leave the airport. You can apply for a stay permit to leave the airport. If you just stay in the airport for 7 hours, nothing is required.

Hello Mick,

Thanks for your reply. Further question: Where can we apply for the permit to leave airport? Will it be at Shanghai later or can we apply from our country first?

Thanks!
