About:Bao'en Temple Pagoda

I have a australian passport. Is it possible to go to china on a tourist visa for one week

and then apply for a work Z as after? Basically I would like a holiday in shanghai before I start work there.

You can use the tourist type to go to China for a week, but it is not allowed to apply for work Z in China. It is suggested to apply for a Work Z directly in your home country. With it, you can also travel in China.

Thank you so much for your reply. My situation has now changed and I'm not able to return to my country of residance. Is there any other way I can work or at least get into the country?

If so, you may try to apply your Work Z in HK.

It is not for sure, but you can have a try. I saw some people get it in HK.
In order to improve the possibility, you are suggested to find a local agency to help you to get.
