a few questions on high speed train from shanghai to jinanjinan to beijing

Hi all,Some questions for any kind soul to answer :)1) I'm intending to travel from Shanghai HongQiao railway station to Jinan West Railway Station3) I'm intending to travel from Jinan West Railway Station to Beijing South Railway Station3) Should I buy tickets in advance for the above 2 plans? I will be lugging my luggages so I'm not sure how comfortable that will be4) Are taxis abundant outside these stations? In particular for Jinan West Station and Beijing South station. Do the accept credit cards?

yes, i think you should buy the ticket in advance. there are room for your luggage in the carriage, so I still think they will be comfortable trips. yes, taxis are easy to found outsite the stations. but credit cards are not accepted, and you need to pay in cash, RMB.

Thanks Lyla!A couple more questions:1) If I buy the tickets in advance, can I use credit card to buy?2) If I bought the tickets in advance and and arrive late, can I catch the next train with the tickets I bought?3) How early should I arrive at the station before departure factoring in the queuing time, checking in, customs etcThanks

1) no, railway station does not accept foreign credit cards2) no, if you arrive late, your ticket expires. 3) at least 1 hour. If you have to buy or collect the ticket at the stations, make it two hours.

HiI understand that certain hotels like Sheraton Hongkou Shanghai helps buy train tickets.Do they charge that to together with the hotel bill or paid separately? And is the payment purely by cash? Or is credit card acceptable?
