About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Manchester - Beijing- 13h - Beijing - Bangkok ? On the way back I have a 20h wait.

I was hoping in using the visa both ways and seeing some sites as my layovers are great times all day available both ways.

Actually, this is not a visa at all because you will travel both ways under 24 hour visa free transit. No visa at all of any kind. Upon your landing you will just approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your flight tickets. Nowadays the issuing of a temporary entry permit is very relaxed and we can say with almost absolute certainty that you will be granted a permit both ways. The permit is usually issued to those with layovers longer than 8 hours. You should definitely apply for a permit and when a permit is granted, you will proceed to the immigration and finally to the city to spend your time on your own. I wish you a success and a nice two visits to Beijing city.
