About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Seoul to Beijing

I live in Hawaii & will be going to Seoul in October. I wanted to travel to Beijing for a few days & then back to Seoul before heading home to Hawaii. Will I be able to use the 72 hour visa?

Also, if after a few days back at Seoul, if I wanted to go to Shanghai for a few days & then return to Seoul before flying home to Hawaii, could I also do that?

For my understanding, your first trip is like this: Hawaii - Beijing - Seoul, right? If so, if you stay in Beijing for no more than 72 hours, you are qualifed for the 72-hour free transit. Then you can stay in Beijing for no more than 72 hours with your passport.

The second trip is Seoul - Shanghai - Seoul - Hawaii, righ? If so, it is not qualified for the 72-hour free transit, because you fly from Seoul and hen back to Seoul.
