72-Hour Visa-Free Policy for Xian

Dear Sirs, I understand that From Jun. 1 2014, XA implements the 72-Hour Visa-Free Policy to facilitate passport holders of 51 countries and regions to enjoy a visa-free stay up to 72 hours when taking an international transfer via Xianyang Airport.

I am planning to visit XA for an International Conference (Academic) for 48 hours. I am from India and hold an Indian Passport.
Can I avail the benefit of above Policy to make my trip?
Thanks
Dr. Arun, Chennai (aruntsgmail.com)

Your country is not among the 51 countries, so I'm afraid you are not eligible for the policy. Therefore, you have to apply for a visa for your international meeting.
