72-hour visa-free policy for xian

Dear Sirs, I understand that From Jun. 1 2014, XA implements the 72-Hour Visa-Free Policy to facilitate passport holders of 51 countries and regions to enjoy a visa-free stay up to 72 hours when taking an international transfer via Xianyang Airport.I am planning to visit XA for an International Conference (Academic) for 48 hours.  I am from India and hold an Indian Passport. Can I avail the benefit of above Policy to make my trip?ThanksDr. Arun, Chennai (arunts@gmail.com)

Your country is not among the 51 countries, so I'm afraid you are not eligible for the policy. Therefore, you have to apply for a visa for your international meeting.
