About:Beijing North Railway Station

Can you still use the IC Card to board a train that is already sold out?

I went to the station today and the tickets were already sold out for the one we wanted to take. We then bought an IC card to hopefully use tomorrow. If we come back tomorrow and the tickets are already sold out, can we still get onboard if we use the IC card?

Are you going to take the S2 from BJ North to Badalng? and by IC card do you mean the BJ Transportation card?
I think you can get onboard with the IC card, but each of you should have one card.
If you are going to take the S2, you'd better get to the station as early as possible.

Hi there Taylor,

Yes I meant the BJ Transport Card. We ended up just missing the ride by about 10 minutes so ended up taking the bus from the bus station at the next metro station and was able to use the card on the bus which ended up being 9.60 RMB return each, so actually cheaper than the S2 trains.. All worked out in the end.. I did confirm though that you can definitely use the IC card for the S2 train if you're so inclined..
