About:China Tourist Visa

Visa in US for travel from Brazil

Hello,
I'm from Brazil and right now I'm in the US studying. In December of this year I will come back to Brazil and in January I'm going to China as a tourist. If I apply for a L here, in U.S. can I use it to travel from Brazil to China?
