About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

can i qualify for the exception in Xian?

I am trying to visit Xian on this 72 hour free visa. I am looking at a ticket that goes from Manila then to Xian via Shanghai and then on to Inchon. Because I am technically flying from Shanghai to Xian and not a different country (Philippines)

No, you can not avail free transit permit if your flight also stops in Shanghai. This free transit is only available for direct transit, for example, Manila-Xian-Inchon.
