Extending S2

Is it possible to extend your s2 visa after staying with your friend for 30 days as I want to do some travelling round China. So I would like a tourist L after my s2. Is is possible to get this while in China?

Yes, it is possible. You can do this at local PSB without leaving. But for tourism, you should prepare documents such as travel itinerary, flight ticket for leaving, hotel booking, and sometimes financial support to cover your extra stay.

Hi Derek, I am in China at the moment and experiencing great difficulty. The local PGB says that S2 can not and has never been able to extend. Even when providing the right information voor L . Have you got any advice?

S2 cannot be extend to L, but you can extend your S2 itself for a longer stay.
In case your application for S2 cannot be approved, you may need to get out of China and apply a new L to enter China. You can extend it in HK or Macau.
