Travelling from Hanoi to Hong Kong

Hi. My partner and I are going to be travelling from Hanoi, Vietnam to Hong Kong. What would be the cheapest way? Has anyone got the sleeper bus before? More importantly, does anyone know if we would need a visa for mainland China as we will be going through it (but not staying in China)? We are British passport holders. Thanks

Yes, you need to apply for a Chinese tourist or transit visa in advance. But I've never heard about the sleepers for the trip. Pesonally, I suggest you fly from Hanoi to Hong Kong directly. The air ticket offers some discounts from time to time.
