US passport and Chinese visa

Hi, I'll be traveling with friends and we all have United States passports but we'll apply for Chinese tourist L in order to enter China. Would that include the permission to enter Tibet?

No, the tourist L is not enough, you have to apply through a travel agency for a Tibet Entry Permit.
