Travel through China to Vietnam

Is it possible to fly to Vietnam with a stop in China (short - 3hours or so!) and a get a Visa on arrival in Vietnam? Or do China require a valid one before they'll let you fly on to Vietnam? Thanks!

Hi, don't worry, you can transit freely in China with such a short stopover.
