Getting China Visa in Hanoi, Hong Kong, or USA?

We are currently traveling in Hanoi. We plan to travel to Tibet in late May and then explore other parts of China. We're hoping to get a 60 days one with single entry, so we don't have to leave the country and re-entry. We have US passports, but my husband had applied for single entry once in Dec. 2013. He traveled to China for a short period to visit family. My understanding is in Hanoi, most likely one will be granted 20 days. Hong Kong is probably 30 days the most, plus the cost for flight and hotel really add up, and sending passports back to USA.... seems a bit risky and time-consuming.

Can you please advice what's the best way and where we should apply? Also, will there be problem that my husband just recently applied once? Thanks!

Hi, it is easier for you to apply in USA actually, because to apply in Hanoi, you may be required to provide Vietnam visa or residence permit for application. HK is now strict as the same.
