1.5 Liters of Alcohol into China

Hi I'm traveling to Beijing and Xian in March. Is the limit of alcohol to bring from China to the U.S. 1.5 liters per person? If so can I give a bottle of rice wine to each of my minor (16 and 17) children to carry for me? I know that sounds weird. But when we returned from the Caribbean, they let each of them , and my husband carry a bottle of rum for me.

Ninnie, you can't take the alcohol in your carry-on luggage. They must be put in your checked luggage. According to the rule, each passenger can bring no more than 1.5 L alcohol. I think your children can carry them for you. But you should confirm with your airline whether children below 18 years old are allowed to take alcohol with them.
