I can see that you understand the essence, but we have to correct two detail in your itinerary: 1. You cannot exit Hong Kong toward mainland China by train, but by ferry to Shekou in Shenzhen or to Nansha located south from Guangzhou and connected to it by a metro. These two ferry lines are eligible, but the train is not. Please, do not confuse it with the fact that a train from mainland China to Hong Kong is eligible, however not in your case because you have to exit mainland China in a territory different than Hong Kong. 2. You cannot perform pedestrian border crossing under 240 hour visa free transit. The reason is simple, you have to produce a ticket even before your departure from Hong that will clearly present that you will be in a transit. A train ticket until Zhuhai is not enough. The best solution is a ferry from Shekou (in Shenzhen) to Macau via TurboJet website. So, take a ferry from Hong Kong to Shekou or Nansha and after your stay in mainland China take a ferry from Shekou to Macau (there is no ferry from Nansha to Macau). It is important to book your ferry ticket before your departure from Hong Kong toward mainland China. This is your best option and I would say, much better and convenient than air travel. Have a nice visit to China.
