About:Baggage Allowance for Chinese Domestic Flights

flying animals on their own

my friend has recently moved from Urumqi to Guangzhou and left her pet dog in my care until she wanted me to send him to her. Is it possible to send a dog on it's own? If so does it require the payment of a seat on the flight and is it considered as extra luggage? And what requirements are needed from the vet, e.g. health certificates, vaccines etc.

You should ask a pet shipping company to help you if you plan to send the dog to your friend without your accompany. The company can help you get everything ready. It costs extra money if you ask them to handle everything. The procedure isn't complicated. If you plan to prepare the required documents, you should follow the following procedure.

1. acquire the quarantine certificate. You should have it from the quarantine bureau. Actually, some pet hospitals can help you get it. You just need to pay them money.
2. a shipping box. It can be acquired at the pet hospital or from the airport.
3. an automatic waterer for your dog. Make sure that your dog know how to drink water from it.
4. an identity card for the dog. It should include the dog's name and its owner's contact info.

When you prepare all the required documents, you can send your dog to the shipping company. Some shipping companies come to your home and pick up your pet. They might charge for this service.

PS: if your dog has air-sickness, you should feed it with some medicine.
