About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai 72 Hour Policy

I am scheduled to arrive in Shanghai Thursday at 6:30PM with a flight departing Sunday at 7:10PM. Will I be allowed to board my flight in Los Angeles even though technically the time gap is just over 72 hours?

Some say the timing starts when you get your stamp in China and I should be in the airport Sunday around 4pm as well. Thanks!

You can confirm this with the carrier airline directly because different airlines may have their own policies concerning this free transit. That is right that the permit starts from the 0:00 of the following day, so it is ok for the free transit itself in Beijing.
