About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit 72 hr visa?

I have a Chinese L for 2 entries for 30 days, it expires on April 03. I have used one of the entries and one left, however, I plan a trip from UK-FRA-SHE-FRA-UK. leaving on April 02 ret May 02 (FRA being a connection only). I also plan a trip from SHE-Vietnam, connecting in Shanghai on April 05 (70 hrs after landing in SHE). Will my original L be enough to cover this trip? And will I have get a transit G? Or will I have to apply for another one?

Hi, your original L is enough for second entry to SHE as well as a transit in Shanghai, but it should be right before April 03 when your L is still valid. If you will return from Vietnam to SHE, you can take advantage of 72 hour free transit.

Andrew, thanks for answering, however, I need to clarify...I will be flying to SHE on April 3, leaving SHE for Vietnam on 5, returning to She on 22 and staying there until May 2, when I will return to UK via FRA connection.
Will my L visa still cover the stay from 22 April to May 2 and will I be able to use the Transit G for the first couple of days?
Thanks
