D-> I transfer questions in Shanghai Pudong airport

My daughter will be arriving into terminal 2 on Air China and then departing from terminal 2 on American Airlines for Chicago. Will she have to go through security in SH? Will she have to go through customs in SH? I understand that there are three levels to Terminal 2. Will she arrive at level 1 (lowest level)? She then proceeds to the transfer hall. Is the transfer hall on level 1? After she takes the escalator up and passes through International CIQ does she stay at that level (2?) for her flight? After passing through CIQ will she then go through security? Will she have to reclaim and recheck her baggage? Will she then go through customs? What is the correct order for these three: Go through security, reclaim & recheck baggage, go through customs? She reported on her flight in that her flight was not listed prior to entering the secured area. Will her flight be listed in the secured area?

I apologize for all these questions. The intent of the questions is to get a very clear picture of what will be required for my daughter, as she had difficulty transferring to her domestic flight after arriving in SH.
