Flying into China on one-way ticket and leave overland to vietnam

Hi, I'm Irish citizen leaving in Britain, myself and my wife are flying into China on a one-way ticket and looking to travel over land to Vietnam. However, we will eventually be flying from Vietnam to Indonesia at a later date. Do you think we will get a visa as long as we can provide evidence of flight out of Vietnam?

This is ok for application. You can provide a detailed travel itinerary about your whole trip as well.
