About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can she use the 72 hour transit visa to re-enter Shanghai?

Hi, I live in Shanghai and my sister is visiting from Australia. She has a single entry visa. We would like to go to Hong Kong and then return to Shanghai. She would leave Shanghai to return to Australia within 72 hours of returning from Hong Kong. Is this possible?
