Hello I have a friend overstayed for almost 1 month but he get visa from travel agency to fix from US he get 1 year M type without exiting China he plan to exit shenzhen to Hong Kong and comeback to activate his new visa.

It's really difficult to tell. I think the immigration officers will find out how long he overstayed in PRC because of his previous visa on his passport. Seriously, I don't know if it will affect his new M type one.
