day-trips on the yangtze river

Hi, can you recommend a day trip on the river  that would allow us to have a glimpse of the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges? We cannot spare the time for a cruise and still we don't want to miss the views. Maybe we could fly to one of the ports and do something shorter? Thank you!

If so, it is suggested to fly to Yichang and then take the airport shuttle bus to reach its terminal in the city downtown area. Then change a taxi to get to Yemingzhu Bus Station, where you can find the Gorge Bus Line 8 (Baqu Line 8) to reach the Three Gorges. The Line 8 operates from 06:30 to 22:30.Or I think you can book a local tour to reach there, so that you do not need worry about the bus and the tour guide problems.

Thank you for this reply! I understand you can enjoy the gorges from a bus also. Do you know of any short trips o the river? Are there any small boats at Yichang that give you a glimpse of the area in half a day or so? Thank you!
