About:Kunming Travel

Kunming to Lao Cai

Hello,
we`re looking forward to cross the border from China to Vietnam, going from KM to Lao Cai. Is there a way to book the bus tickets online? is there an overnigth bus? the schedule we found is for KM east bus station and there are 4 buses, 10 am the first and 8 pm the last one. With the first we arrive at 4,20 pm and we`re not sure if we can make it trhough the border. The last one arrives at 2 am... not an option.
Could you recomend a different bus? or a hotel to spend the nigth there?

As i know, the buses are only available from KM to Hekou and from Hekou, you can easily pass the border to Lao Cai.
The buses can be booked online, but the website is in Chinese. So for you, it is suggested to go to the local East Bus Station to buy the tickets. The bus from KM to Hekou are at 09:40, 10:40, 11:40, 13:30, 19:00 and 19:30.
The bus takes about 6 to 7 hours.
I think you can choose the last bus.

I think we'll take the last bus. We'll let you kow how it went. There are no trains running that route, we asked at the train station.
